After their two-year-old daughter disappears without a trace, Darren and Tara receive mysterious videos of their private lives. The police are ready to arrest a suspect, just as the family is already falling apart. Secrets come to light as they are watched from all sides.
Stranger Eyes is a thriller written and directed by Yeo Siew Hua. The film is about watching and being watched: the endless recordings from security cameras and the images we make, send and receive on our phones. Yeo Siew Hua: “There is always someone watching you and recording you. What does it mean to exist only as a digital recording, observed by strangers? How are our personalities shaped by the knowledge that we are constantly being watched? This is a whole new situation, one that intrigues and worries me.”
